DS4SEQ

The Daylight Saving for South East Queensland party has made a strong showing in our QldVoice.org reader polls, currently holding 74% of the votes in our latest poll.  It is unusual for a single-issue party to receive a lot of votes because when it comes down to election day and you’re standing in front of your ballot with pencil in hand it can be difficult to break with the status quo and vote for a fringe candidate.

I’m curious whether DS4SEQ really has the support across Queensland that our site poll suggests, or whether a large number of DS4SEQ candidates and campaign staff/volunteers are active online and happen to be voting in our polls which gives a skewed result.

Have your say in our comments below. Does DS4SEQ really have your vote? Tell us why, or why not! If you are a DS4SEQ candidate or campaign member please disclose that in your comment.

Will social networking rule this Election?

February 26, 2009

While many scoff our politicians in their attempts to ‘connect’ with constituents by using the latest internet-based thingy or iFad, both the Labour and LNP marketing teams have been somewhat on the ball in ensuring their key candidates for Premier are all social-networked-up. Given the success Obama had in using things like YouTube and Facebook [...]

Having noted with interest the launch of the Daylight Saving for South East Queensland Party in 2008, I expected the new party to have candidates lined up for the possibility of an early Queensland State Election. As of Day Two of the campaign there are currently no candidates publicly listed as being ready to run. [...]
